Inspired by a meeting with former students on a field trip in Nashville, Ross & Reid realized that many high schools have been stripped of the means to inspire students to explore their musical creativity. Since they had both benefited greatly from mentors, they decided to send that elevator back down to the next generation of aspiring songwriters and musicians.
So, SongFarm was formed.
SongFarm is an organization that connects successful songwriters with their former high school mentors, and with companies who believe in sparking creativity at a young age. We partner with companies whose products are powerful, innovative and easy to use, and help create a songwriting/production space in the high school of the sponsor songwriter.
In partnership with ACM Lifting Lives, SongFarm launched its inaugural recording studio at Glenvar High School in Roanoke, VA. The creative space was modeled after Ross’ writing room in Nashville, where he has created hundreds of hit records.
